Hey guys...I am probably one of the only guys on the forum (that I know of) who tried this so I thought I would let everyone know how it was working out (so far). I was on some really shitty trails last weekend (rocks, stumps etc.) and I purposely rode hard so that I could expose any weaknesses in my studding...  . Well after 150 miles I was looking them over carefully not one stud was even slightly bent..!

All the stud manufacturers reccomend 144 at the least for these machines and I ignored that and studded only for safety (96 down the center). The hookup is very good on ice and to be honest I really didn't expect it or care if it was but it was really good. Those Hornets are awesome...(love the narrow profile). I am pretty sure that I will have no problems this season.. :D

PS...I am running the 1.180 Roetin Hornets on a Woody's Standard 96 Pattern with Studboy Powerpoint Aluminum backers.

How far beyond the lugs do the studs stick out. I'm surprised that a 1.140 stud would work with a 1 1/4 track. Roetin must measure them a different way. I'm used to running Woody's

Roetin does measure them differently...really confused the heck out of me too. But I went back and checked just to make sure My Mistake

I got the number wrong but they are actually 1.180's (1180's) and they have a 1/4" penetration on a 1.25" track. They are the same as Woody's 1.325's. Kind of confusing if you are looking at all the different manufacturers becasue they all measure differently...not sure why??
