Looking for any info on a 96 stud pattern for my apex rtx.
Picked up 96 woody's and want to run only down the middle.
Would it be 2 per row all the way around in a v-pattern?
Any help appreciated first time studding my own.

Check the Woody's website; they show all the appropiate patterns.

I would run them in a v pattern and create as many scratch lines as possible. I have had better luck with creating my own template then using woody's. FWIW

Hi9,
Lots of help and opinions on studding at this "Frequently Asked Questions" thread. Big thing is to not put a stud in center of track. I perfer double backers.

I would put more than 96 studs in the track. Running to few of studs is as bad as running too many. I would do at 144 if I were you. I think 168 is perfect for the 121" apex

It's okay to stud in the middle with the 07 RTX. The Mono is the one to watch in the middle. I have 144 down the middle on my RTX. Gold diggers with square alum. singles. Some will tell you to stay away from the square backers because they turn. I like that feature because it tells me it is starting to get loose. I re tightened 4 or 5 all last year and it was easy to spin the track and look for the ones that are not squared to the track. I used the woody's pattern but I did off set each set of pattern's so it would add more scratch lines. I did read on here that the more studs help with tear outs. More studs equal less pressure per stud helping with the tear outs. I ride aggressive and if you don't then 96 should be fine. If your more aggressive or the area you ride has low snow (more rocks or stumps) I might think about more studs. Have fun.

We put a minimum of 144 studs up the middle of our 06 Apex GT and 07 Apex RTX. Nothing on the outer edge of the track. Thought that might be a minimum number of studs.. We might go back and add another 24 or 48 on each track.

thats not enough!!!!!!!!!!! You won't even notice them. A major key to studding is multiple lines of traction. The middle are for acceleration and braking and the outside is for sliding. If you do decide to go with that amount, do zig zag across the middle.

I bought 192 1.38 stainless Top Dogs and I am trying to decide on a pattern. I have a 06 Apex ER. Can I put studs down the center? I can't decide if I should put 2 in the outside of every row or every other row.
