Anybody know anything about the accessory plug in? The dealer gave us an adapted to plug in there that is for a heated shield connection (female end.) It had a light on it that shows there is power. We realized the shield wasn't working while plugged in and that the light did not go on. I also plugged the adapter in my Apex and it did not work. When I put it in the cigarette lighter plug in in my car the light went on. So, it's obviously not the adapter. Anybody know anything about this or use this type of plug for a heated shield?

Check your fuse!

When I installed my plug on my xtx I tried the same thing no power at the adapter, tried it in the truck, worked. Thought wtf how could I screw that up. Turns out the fuse was bad before even ran the sled.

I have the same plug on both our sleds and found that the plug has to be pushed down into the receptacle VERY firmly to get it to seat all the way down in. There is a ribbed band in the middle of the plug that prevents it from vibrating loose from the outlet while riding and makes the plug fit really tight in the outlet. You have to get that ribbed band part of the plug down into the outlet. If it isn't seating all the way down it may not be getting power through it. Just a thought from past experience.

As previously mentioned, the plug has to be in the socket firmly. I HAD one and too many times the plug would slip out just a little bit and not be working. The plug is not in my regualr line of site so I didn't know it wasn't in all the way until I had problems.

I have since stopped using the adapter, and have wired the shield cord right into the accessory circuit along with my digital temp gage. I blew the 3A fuse once, and went to a 5A fuse. No problems since with the 5A fuse, and the wiring gage size should have no problem accomidating the draw.

Another option is to wire it right to the battery jumper leads with ring terminals and screws.

plug

Yep, that's the one. I tried again, even sliding the rubber band up the plug so it would sit down further. No luck. Taking back to the dealer tomorrow to see if they can take a quick peak.
