I am thinking of adding the rear heat exchanger on my sled. I am running 1.325 woodys studs and want to know if they might hit the heat exchanger. any info would be helpfull.

if your adding it because of over heating don't do it. All you have to do is drain your coolant and go with "engine ice"
I drained my coolant in my brand new attack in 2006.I went riding with 2 other brand new Attacks for my first ride that winter. They both got hot after some drag racing both sleds fans and lights Came on. The light never came on on mine or the fan.

I am running 1.450 woodys megabites.
300 Hard miles and not one hit. That is without extra protection. I will be adding an extra 1/2" to the protectors this summer just to be safe.
Cheers,
Rick.

1.325 studs won't hit the heat exchanger. I put one on my sled and never had the light come on again.

For those of you running 1.325 studs, I assume that's with the 1.25" Ripsaw stock track? Or are some with a 1" track. I'm thinking about changing to a 1" track with 1.325 studs which should also be fine.
I'm currently running the stock track with 1.450 Woodys and after 6500 miles, no issue other than scrapes on the exhaust bracket at the rear of the tunnel.

first off...if it's temps..Dirk ir right....engine ice is awesome...my sled has never gotten hot....even idling in the summer!
as to the rear exchanger...a little fuel for thought....if you ever throw one stud and it hit's that thing while under way in the back forty...good luck!
Lastly dont just go with a studs number I.E. 1.325 or 1.380 etc....some manufacturer's measure differently thereby giving you more or less penetration..this is one of the reasons why some guys dont hit with a "longer" stud and other have "touched" with a shorter

sounds like engine ice will do the trick
If I can replace the coolant with engine ice, instead of adding the rear heat exchanger that might do the trick. how hard is it to change the coolant. Not sure if you can get engine ice up here in canada, I have never seen this product on the store shelves.

How many jugs of the Engine Ice do you need to do an Apex? Also, is there a "How To" on how to drain the OEM coolant around anywhere.
