another rx 1 question motor mainly

ok lookn to buy another rx1
posted a ad on craigslist a guy replied has 2 for sale
2003 parts sled blowed block
2004 2500 miles had motor gone thru at 1200 says it was running he just wanted a refresh or basically new motor
both sleds look great plastic not broke $2800 buys both
is it a deal or not
truthfully i am very leary of buying a 4 stroke that has already been rebuilt
why what was wrong woth it

Why would you open up a four stroke at 1,200 miles? Its just broke in! There would be no wear to speak of! Who did the work on the motor? Does he have reciepts? Weirdest thing I have heard in a long time!

i have seen the receipt and called the place the guy who did it doesnt work there now and noone else knows about it
pretty sure it was a under table after hours deal

I agree with sasquatch, sounds a bit strange. One with a blown motor and the other that has been rebuilt at 1200 mile. Sounds like the guy is doing something wrong with them. I wouldn't touch that deal with a 10 foot pole.

Picking up one of them for parts only I am thinking the 03 and only for a very very good price. Look else where for the one to ride go for a 05 rx1 or warrior.
