Track selection has been beaten to death, I know, I did the search. Reading all those posts my question still was not answered.

I have a Timbersled Mtn Tamer on it's way.
My motor is stock, and will remain that way this year.
I live in Tahoe, 400+ inches of annual snowfall and avoid trails, groomers except when absolutely necessary.
I weigh 165 lbs in my boxers (200 lbs fully geared up?)

I am looking at the Camo extreme 156 or 162 and the PowerClaw 153 or 162---Sticking with 15" width

I am not some chute ripper, or running 240 hp. The flotation aspect of the 162 is appealing but I am worried about the tree maneuverability and tight powder donuts in the meadows-- Anyone have first hand experience with BOTH these track lengths? Anyone go to a 162" only to go back to a 153"?

Also thinking of relocating the Timbersled back in the tunnel to lower the approach angle--For those of you that have done that, what track length are you running, do you have any pics of your relocations

Finally, stock tipped up rails or Ice Age? Anyone have any pics of the Ice Age rails with the stock Nytro rails to compare curves and mounting points?

The Mtn Tamer is on the way, just trying to sort out the rest of the details, without buying parts I'm not going to use.

Last, OFT Racing, do you have your drop brackets done yet? I'm waiting to replace my home built relocation bracket with one of yours when I can order the drop brackets at the same time...

you will barely be able to tell the difference in ridability from 153-162...yes I have experience with both...and both powerclaw and camo extreme...

with tipped up rails you will not have any of the pushing that some talk about when going to longer rails...

The only place you will notice the length is on big powder days...and it is a pretty significant difference...

The PowerClaw is a fantastic track...it is a fun ride going down hill, but not nearly as scary as some communicate...The Camo Extreme (2.25") is an inferior track, but the Camo Extreme 2.5" is a superior track for general all around riding...I think the PowerClaw is a little less prone to trench in big pow days...but it suffers on those spring days and not so big pow days compared to teh 2.5" camo...

I just sold my powerclaw and am going to a 2.5"x16"x174" for the floatation, and fun it brings to the table...but then I run boost and will drive to get where there is powder...

I live in paradise, so I can drive for a few hours and be in Revy, other direction West Yellowstone, or Cooke, or Fernie, or Golden or, or , or So finding Pow for me is not a big challenge :)

Is the Powerclaw better suited to normally aspirated Nytro with lighter weight, less spin inertia? Or better option to go with heavier Camo Extreme and gear down accordingly?

is singlePly Powerclaw better suited for sidehilling with 3 wheel inside the rail setup?

Powerclaw comes in two durometers right? 80 and 90?

Leaning towards 162" length but still curious about tight donuts in powder filled meadows -- not really concerned with pushing on trails since I try to avoid trails

those are like tomato vs. tomatoe....more opinion than science...

tight donuts... I could do 6foot donuts with my 162" PowerClaw last year...it is not as much a track length thing as it is the tipped up rails...if you get a rail extension that continues the rails in a tipped up manner, you will notice almost no difference...

i will be going to a two wheel inside rail set up...getting axle, extension, and all from OftRacing....migrating to a 174" track :)

If you are keeping a stock motor I'd go with the 156 CE. I've ridden all track lengths and that is what I'd run with the stock motor. If you boost it go with the 162. however my sled is boosted and I like the 156 (I had a 162 also) I suggest that you try to ride a sled to see what "fits" you.

156x16 CE here. Coming off of a 162. In all honesty i can't tell the difference between the 2... I'm leaning towards staying with the 156 till i get boost then it will be the 174.

156CE vs 162 powerclaw

Didn't notice a difference in floatation or in cranked over in powder turning radius --- or just didn't notice any difference??

156CE 162 camoplast challenger 2.25 not an extreme. I cant tell the difference in throwing it around or making tight corners.... And on that note i can't tell difference in climbing either tho. of course its not same day same snow comparison. Do ride with 2 XP 800s one with a 154 one with a 162. the 162 might get 10ft higher on the deep snow days.

Get the Powerclaw in a 153" and don't look back! Best track out there right now, and you won't notice the difference between 153" and 162".
