just wondering if anyone else has noticed that if your XTX is studded that the studs hit the bottom of the front rear shock and the top of the rear shock. the front one might be from going over rocks and the track getting pushed up towards the shock. either way there should be a protector over the ends of these. when i picked up my machine last fall the first thing i did was tighten the track. I still have to remove the suspension again to go over it for the summer so i will check to see if that has prevented it from reocurring. either way i'm going to make myself some covers/protectors. just curious to see if anyone else has noticed this.

Remove and relocate the studs that contact the shock. They are too close to the center of the track. Mounting them closer to the slide rails will provide better traction as that's where most of the weight of the sled rests.

unfortunately thats what I was thinking as well but i think running the track too loose will also cause this especially at the top of the rear shock. if i had done it myself i would never have put them that close to the centre. it looks like every 4th or 5th row studded has had the doubles placed too close to the centre. after removing the skid i've decided to remove the centre studs. most of us would know better but for others that usually do not stud this maybe should be a warning or reminder to keep 1 inch in the centre of the track unstudded.

when i stud tracks (dozen's) I've always left at least a 1" in the center... Both my Phazer RTX and Apex RTX will kiss the shocks if a space is not left. Its part of the design of these style of suspensions. shock eyes are very close to track.

So as a rule.... Leave a 1" space in the centre of track to clear studs.
