just seeing if anyone else has turboed a short track rtx nytro.... i used an mcexpress turbo and 2 inch track geared down to 19-20 tooth and just wanted to nkow what everyone else is goin for clutching... i have been using a shockwave helix and a white secondary sping, 74 gram daltons, and strait ramps......
any info would be nice thanks!

YOU'RE looking for info ???? WE'RE looking for INFO !!! How DOES that thing work with the turbo installed ? And you geared down instead of up ? Ohhh man, that sled must flip over by itself from just looking at it ! I'd start with a gearing up change and go from there....

hahah no i wanted to gear down i play in the mountians and in alot of snow some times so i geared down to 20 tooth and 8tooth drivers and it still does 190-200with the 2 in challenger track and at 170 it still
cat walkslike none other..... lol and i plan to just it as hard as i can it is goin to be a purpose built jumper lol my floats are at 110 psi and it might need to go stiffer

Those speeds are impossible with that gearing and drivers. :drink:

At 9000 rpm with your gearing/drivers you are topped out at around 155-160 (with 10% overdrive) so with speedo error you may see mid 170's, but what do I know.

and that takes into account the turbo?
so how do i re-adjust the kms setting to read properlly?

It does not matter if it has a turbo or not, gearing is gearing. The nytro speedo seems to be more accurate then the apex or RX-1 so I would just leave it.

I think the Yammie clutches can go into 20-25% overdrive if you have enough power. Also if stock is 9 tooth drivers that is what the Speedo is Calibrated for, so if he switched to 8 tooth it is overreading, or probably just about accurate now....

Assuming the same pitch drives (2.52"). going from 9 tooth to 8 tooth the reduction in MPH would be 12%. So the speedo would be reading 12% too fast due to the change in front drivers. Hope this helps.

okay that is awsome! i will go out and clock this think with my gearing and see what the speedo lol

Try it with a GPS... You should try gearing up alot with 8tooth drivers... Atleast 23 top or so to let the turbo come to use...
