Have 05 mtn vector , starter noise when cranking over has gotten loader
over the winter, makes the odd clunk when you stop turning over (still not running), woundering if anybody else has had a similar problem & what was the cause. thinking a loose starter , just a guess.how hard would it be to tighten or is this a dealer inspection only?

I had starter problems on my 05 Vector when I bought the sled in January 05. It was slipping on the starter clutch in the extremely cold weather. On the warmer days or after it had been started it always worked well. I told the dealer about it at the time and because I didn't want to lose any ride time I didn't have it fixed till May 05. It was all done under warrantee. I put 2500 miles on last season without any problems at all. When the starter clutch slipped it would disengage with a clunk or bang. This might be your problem????
