I noticed there are no grease nipples on the front a arms in the front suspension, where they pivot on the body side, In previous sleds I had, I removed the arms, drilled holes in them and welded on a nut and put a grease nipple in them for better lubrication and it also tightens up the fit. Was thinking on doing the same on the Apex, what have you guys done? anything?

I'm not sure for mountain sleds but on all flat landers APEX'S already come ZERTED "Nippled" since '06
In your case if you didn't have any its a BIG improvement and will save you a lot of BUSHING wear

He's talking about the front end, not the rear suspension. Front end has no grease zerks on any of the Yamaha's. Sure would be nice if they did, but then they wouldn't sell any replacement parts.
I thought about adding the zerks to the A-arms myself. It certainly would eliminate the wear to the front end.

OOPS! at my age we kind of over look small details LOL...
I take mine apart at the spindles every fall and lube them and at the bulk head I spray good quality penetrating lube like "KROWN" on all bushing area and sway bar links and works fine.

DaJudge did it to his......... We were changing his bushings and had them apart.. So he drilled and tapped holes for them......... Man it reallllllllllllllllllllllly took alot of grease to fill them up the first time... But now it's easy for him just to pump a few and good to go..... "HEY" the "A" arms perverts..MM.

Thanks guys, I think I will remove mine and put zerks in them all, and yes they do take lots the first time, a big gap in there to fill up so when you do it makes things feel tighter too.I don't like

I just changed my lower A-arms and all the bolts (inner and outer) as well as the ulmer bushing kit, i drilled and tapped the a-arms and the spindles. No need to weld a nut on, just tap where you drill. As a precautionary measure i even drilled through the sleeve at the spindle bolts to let some grease to the bolt itself. Just take your time and drill them so they don't get hit and are easy access to get the grease gun on them later. Between the Ulmer bushings and the grease my front end is nice and tight now!

I like the idea of adding Zirks. Do you guys think removal is necessary to drill and tap? I am thinking that some metal shavings may get inside the tubes. But if I remove the dril several times during the process and spray with oil, and the same thing with the tap, do you think it will be safe to not remove the A-Arms? I have brand new Yamaha bushings installed. Thanks

it's hard to tap a hole without taking things apart though, I usually add nuts to give me more room so the zerk fitting don't touch anything on the inside, but that depends on what is in there, if nothing will touch no nut will be needed.... Im going to scrap my front end real soon and put them all in there, it can't last if you cant get grease in there.
