Anyone running the woodys 96 stud pattern with the double Diggers. I was going to run 144 but am worried about it being sticky. so I just put in the doubles diggers, thinking I can add the others if needed. I was wondering if anyone has run the double digger 96 pattern and iF so what you thought of it?

Not running the double diggers, but do run 96 studs in a V pattern. I found that it was not too sticky, that you can still swing the back end around while knowing you can stop on ice.

I have found for most 600's and the like in the past that 96 are enough to help out on ice and stopping and still give you allow you to play a bit. This is my first 4 nstroke however and understand they have a lot of torque and was also wandering if they wouldn't get ripped out. I also have put in 96 in the v pattern and was wandering if I shouldn't have gone for a few more.

Hey ya Storm-C
I just installed 108 Woody's in a 96 Pattern on my '05 Rage's Ripsaw track...( 136" track)

I can't tell ya yet what the grip/handling is of course.. But I'll return here to let ya know... But if I can predict what others have said ... I'll be OK..

I figure I can always add more if needed.

;)!

Storm-chaser, that was my exact thinking last season when I studded my '05. I rode my first 100 miles with the 96 Double Digger pattern. By my second trip, I had added the 48 singles for a 144 pattern down the center. The torque that these things produce can benefit from the extra IMO. But that's good reasoning on your part. It makes more sense to add more later if you decide that you want to, but it's a little tougher to take them away once they're there.

I did end up busting a few studs off the base last season. Better than ripping a track though! I picked up some repacements at Novi this afternoon, and bought some Big Nuts to try to help.

I also used the shorter of the 2 big nuts.Maybe I should just add the other 48 now.

Me too. I didn't realize till yesterday that there were short and tall Big Nuts. The tall ones are for 1.450" studs I guess.
