i have an electric sheild helmet but i would love to ride without plugging and unpluging cord every time i get off sled. Im not jumping ship and buying brp sled, just helmet. Sun visor sheild is also an attractive feature. Is there anyone out there with the new brp helmet , if so any comlaints, wind entering helmet, etc...
 

Rode with a guy in Quebec this past week and it was very cold. He had the new modular helmet and it did not work well at all in the cold temps. He ended up using one of our spare HJC's with the electric shield. Not worth the money or any money if it does not work.
 
I have a HJC electric and love it but wanted a sun sheild . I bought the mod 2 and love it also the sun sheild is great . The other week it was -17 and I had no prob. with the helmet if you have a beard or alot of facial hair the mask will not get a good seal on your face and you might fog up . The only other reason they will fog up is when very cold out and your doing agressive riding with alot of heavy breathing the exhaust tubs on the side can get ice build up but it takes 2 sec. to clean the ice out. My friend has had his for 6 years and only happend to him once. I love my HJC and have nothing bad to say about it ,but I wanted a sun sheild and its great !And also the new Mod. helmet is alot diffrent than the Mod.2
 
A few friends that have run Doo modulars the last few years and like them. Temps from above freezing to -36C without issue, as long as the breath vents don't freeze over as kotapug said.
 
I have worn a Modular I for the last few years and although it is a more convenient design (sunshade, modular, no fogging, fairly light, etc...) the face mask is a royal pain with that neoprene thing. So I too want to know what the new Modular II's are like(better/worse) compared to the older one like mine.
 
I've got a modular 2. Had it for about a month. Like it so far. I also have the heated shield. I don't think the heated shield is needed as I don't have any fogging problems. The neoprene mask is a bit of a pain. The mask has a piece of fabric that catches moisture. You need to carry a couple of those because they get very wet.

i have the bvs I that the whole face flips up, with built in sunshade, my bro-inlaw has the bvs II , only the front of it flips down and has a screw in front thing, it's a royal pain and he ended up having to get a heated shield, i have never had any problems with mine except the one time the ports froze over...at about 100 mph on a lake!! that sucked not being able to breath, now i check them at every stop, oh yeah, it was like -10 that day.
 
Yours would be the mod 1or 2 not the bvs. The mod 2 has better vision(more range ) and the sheild trim is clear not black and the 2 has different releases for the modular flip up .The bvs comes with amber sun sheild where the mods. have a smoked sheild. You can buy tinted sheilds for any of them
 
I have the BV2 with a 2006 Attack with the stock shorty windshield. Mine has fogged up but it is because one of the two little thin rubber membranes that sit in the holes on top of the mask got bent and created an air passage into the helmet. Once I straightened the membranes out the fogging went away. I don't use the white removable filters either.

The reason I bring up the height of my windshield is because I have read posts that say mid height windshields help others who do have issues with the BV2 fogging up.

I like my helmet and use the amber flip down all the time.
 
i have one of the original skidoo modular helmets,never fogs,im use to the face mask,i found some pads at walmart for the moisture but it sucks as far as wind protection goes,the wind always froze my eyes even with the extra insert around the face mask,i actually used silicone and sealed between the flip up visor and the piece it sit down on because it just wouldnt seal,i also sealed around the vent in the front,the air leaks thru where the sunshield button slides up and down so when its really cold i put a piece of tape over it before i leave the house,im not sure if the air is coming thru the release buttons in the front or what but anything below 10 beg i cant run it without the extra insert over the facemask,i dont know if the 2nd model is any better but i would never spend the money on one again until i tried one,there are too many other models on the market for 1/2 the money that would freeze my eyes and i'd still have gas money left over,my buddy has the bv2 with the screw thing on the front and he said its awesome and he has big old coke bottle lense glasses to deal with,my 2 pennies
 
I have the BVS2 and it is warm. No vents. I sweat quite a bit and had to get the electric shield for it due to the sweat causing condensation. I use the flip down visor all the time. With the flip down mask it makes for easy talking. My only problem is the lack of vents to cool me down. I have Hyper-Hydrosis which means I sweat @-30. I may just sell it and go back to my CL-Max modular.
 
I just picked up a Nolan NCom-102 and will be trying it over the next couple days. It's a bike helmet, but with an anti-fog lens that comes with it added it, it's not SUPPOSED to fog. I was outside below freezing puffing away and no fogging, but it's not that cold tonight. I hope it doesn't need an electric visor, but we'll see.

I just don't like the Doo helmets with the breath mask...seems to bother me just trying it on. My Cat TXi helmets have been great without fogging, but I wanted to try a modular.

For example today its -20 here, you lock that shield close and ride the whole day with no fog....also its a very warm helmet. almost too hot on warm days.....double lens visor design has the best peripheral vision I have ever seen

Test one for a day and you'll never go back.
