Rode the pre 11 Apex last spring. Darting gone. Has anyone tried these new skis on earlier models yet? Have concern that in part lack of darting may be getting help from the change in spindle angle and power steering, not just the skis.

I had heard a guy say the demo he rode had snow trackers on it.
The ski has noting different than the old ski to affect darting. The spindle now has trail, finally, like the early 90s polaris. Still a single carbide with no dart control. I wouldn't bother changing to them.
Dartless plates for your stockers or Arrows for even a more agressive ski.

I rode a bunch of the 2011's at a private dealer only ride. All the ones we had, had factory carbides on them. Very little darting on the trails we were on. That may change based on trail conditions but on the snow we had, I really didn't notice much darting at all. What I did notice about the new skis is the cornering ability. Much improved bite. Probably due to the different trail they use and the squared up keel. I know when I put my stock skis in a mill and squared up my keels, huge difference in corner bite.. but.. takes more effort to turn. EPS on a 2011 takes that effort away. Not a big deal to me, I can use the arm workout anyway.
