A lot of guys at the shows were busting off the DZUS fasteners.
Long a favorite of the racing communities, just a quarter turn counter clockwise and let go. Dont try to unscrew them like a bolt, that could ruin the socket. Once unfastened dont yank them out. That pulls off the washer that holds them to the panel.

You bet Apex21, these are real classy race car/motorcycle D-ring 1/4 turn fasteners. It is just that you dont want to be ham fisted with them

Is it worth carrying spares? I am wondering if 1 or 2 were broken could you loose a panel going down the lake at 100….
