I am in the process of re valving my mono shock. i would just send it away and pay to have it done but time is an issue and I'm in Canada. poor planning i know. I think i have an idea but would like some feed back or tips on what u guys did if anyone has done it them selfs. so here's what I'm thinking... we know its hard at top of compression and soft at bottom. the first stage of the compression valving has 6 large (40 mm) shims then a thin smaller one before the second stage starts. i was going to reduce the 6 large ones in the first stage to 3, this should make it softer on top. Then add the three to the second stage to make it stiffer for more bottoming resistance. Also removing the last smallest valve in the second stage to stiffen it up even more. ANY THOUGHTS ON THIS?

Can't really comment on your valving question but give Frank at Shock Tec a call....they are located in Drayton, ON. He has an awesome setup for the mono and you will not believe the difference. My shock is back with him now for another refresh. Shock is usually in and out of his shop in 3 or 4 days.

I'm pretty sure what I'm thinking here will work better but its nice to get other opinions.

Give Frank a call. I'm sure he will answer your questions. He works cheap, I just had him do a full service with revalve and it's only $80! that's peanuts. www.shocktec.ca

I like to figure it out for myself when i can. i know everyone likes to home there secrets close. i don't. i like to share. maybe it will come back around. I'm not refering to guys making a living doing it. i don't expect them to, i have had guys asking me about the ulmer box but i direct them to ulmer. its only fair. I'm going to attempt to tackle clutching soon and if i can figure it out i will be posting my results. but only if i figure it out. if someone shares with me i won't share there info. anyway. that's a little off topic lol
