APEX oil filter part #

Can anyone tell me why is their so many part #'s for 1 F'N filter...some have "00" or "10" or "20", some SHORT (5GH-13440-00-00) some LONG (5GH-13440-20-00) my dealer today gave me the short "00" and said that this was fine...

Two filter from Yamaha will work. 5GH-13440-00 is the longer filter (5mm) or the -20 witch is shorter. Both will work fine and have the same filtering capitcity. The -20 was desinged for the sled and will be easier to get a filter wrench on.

I noticed the same thing when I bought my new filter the part #'s were different. I had wrote them down. Anyone ever think about a K@N High Flow Filter? I stuck with the Yamaha brand but almost went wit the KN. Who makes Yamaha filters by the way? Surely they don't make them.

I just keep going with YAM for WARRANTY, I still have a year to go...and peice of mind.

You can use a good oil filter such as wix and their part number is 51358
