Apex Seat Swap

There have been several posts concerning this swap for the 03-05 RX/RS.
Can someone post the neccessary parts/procedures to make this swap? Pictures of fit/finish would be helpful. There are at least two different part numbers(besides variation for color) out there for these style seats.
I have noticed that the vector mtn uses the new seat while retaining the old style hood. Does it use the new style tank cover as well?

all you have to do, is cut the plugs off your light wire harness on the old seat, switch them with the new ones.

Then, the new seat sits over the tank cover, not under. Light bolts right on.

KbxSrx- Thanks for the pic. Noticed your tunnel is dual angle like the apex. Do you think there would be any clearance issues or worse, gaps with the stock tunnel?

What did you pay for an Apex seat. I'd love to upgrade but am afraid of the cost.
