Apex to Nytro ?

if i was strictly trail riding i would go with the vector 0-80 very similar to the apex and better mpg possibly a little lighter also. me personally like the 136 for comfort and can always raise seat if you want seat higher. nytro is a do everything sled.

after trying most of the sleds on the market (I ride with a large group)
and all of Yamaha's, I just can't see myself on anything other than the nytro. The sitting position alone does it for me. I do trail only

I recently switched from a 2007 Apex RTX with a 144 x 1.5 track on to a 2011 Nytro XTX. Best switch I have ever made. I loved the outright horsepower of the Apex, however the gain in comfort, nimbleness and weight loss is worth it. The Nytro is truely a fun machine to ride and gets decent gas mileage. I run a BRP fuel caddy on the back for emergency but have not had to use it yet.

I have both 07 Apex RTX with rebuilt skid, etc.... and stock 11' Nytro XTX .. I love the Nytro, feels good, and bridges the bumps well. As for speed, both my brother and I were on the lake with both sleds, at top speed the XTX pulls....

I have both and agree with the comments already posted. I am a motocross rider and love the stand-up ride of the Nytro, simply a more fun machine to ride! Takes some effort in getting it dialed in to be a good trail machine but I have done that and can run with the best out there. My only frustration is losing the top end. A lot of guys say they don't need to do 110 which may be true, but when I pull most any sled in 600 feet on the lakes only to get passed because I don't have the legs, it pisses me off. If I had the top end of my Apex, it would be the perfect sled for me. As I add mods each year I am where I want to be without the top-end. Looks like some boost is in my future......

I have a 2010 Nytro and Vector. From a chasis stand point they both are a ton fun and are entierly different sleds in their own way.

After riding each for a few thousand km, here is what I found:

-If you like the idea of riding standing up and stretching the legs -nytro.

-On trails that are tight, sometimes choppy with lots of sharp turns - nytro.

-For big mile trips with sweeping turns and long straights - apex.

-For longer trips and peace of mind between fuel stops - apex. [The larger tank on the apex and vector takes the edge off on long day trips, I can get about 240km on the vector from a tank. the nytro's 28l tank only gets me about 185km.]

-Top end. If you do lots of lake running - apex. [The nytro's engine is fantastic. It gets to its top end pretty quick and then flattens. If you do lots of lake running iam sure the apex would scare the bejesus out of you, where as the nytro can be put to the bar somewhat comfortablely].

-high speed runs - apex. [I have always felt better on the vector doing speed runs than the nytro. It has a lower profile, a bit wider. the nytro has such a high center of gravity].

-Agressive trail riding - nytro. [After upgrading skis, i feel way more comfortable getting aggressive on trails on the nytro. The weight of the vector and inside ski lift gets unerving on tight turning trails]

Hope that helps. I have not spent much time on an Apex but thought some the characteristics between the Vec and Nytro may assist.
