Hello Everyone!! I'm new to the site and I'm from Saskatchewan. You know that chunk of land between Alberta and Manitoba!! Anyways I'm having trouble making a decision. I want to trade off my 05 Rage and get either an Attak or an Apex Mountain. I am going to the mountains in January for the first time, and am planning on going at least twice a year. I do most of my riding in fields and on lakes. Somebody please help with my decision. They offered me $8500 Cdn. for my rage on trade. They want $5500 taxes paid difference for either sled. What should i do?

06 Grizzly 660
05 Rs Rage

04 DW-8 Acoustic guitar

If u ride off trail and in the mountains go with the Mountain sled. Rode the Attak in 4' of snow last year. Don't let up or stop unless your are on a trail, unless you like digging.

sled

just mod out your rage.I had a 136" vector last year and have an apex mtn mow if I had to do it again I would have put a 144" on the vector and did some more mods.

As before, I will nver buy another sled without trying it for a day in all conditions because some work better in some areas then others.I have owned probably 25 or 30 sleds of all makes in the last 35 years. Some just do some things better.

Zipclean

Your the only one ive seen on here that is that frustrated with your sled..

I rode my 121 in 4 feet of powder in michagan.. it wasnt easy.. .but it wasnt as bad as you say..

Maybe you need to start over, put everything back to stock

Mostly is stock.Any changes I have done has helped some. Also I don't read about many here who ride in open, drifted, combo hard and soft snow, and sometimes all of the above at once. Most are trail riders or mountain riders.I have sledded in the mountains and it isn't the same as open wind swept fields. What I am saying is The Attak (or My Attak ) has front end handling/suspension issues. And there have been a few people who have responded with the same findings.Sorry for the bad report but this is how this sled handles these type of conditions.I'm sure if you drove MY sled in My conditions you would see what I mean.STILL VENTING! and hoping for a fix .

First thing i would do if i were you is get a set of the WIDEST skis you can find..

You need to keep the skis on top of the snow , not plowing threw it..

I know RICHMOTORSPORTS (rich) had some super wide skis on his attack last year and he loved it.. they must have been 8 inches wide..

I put on 7" Apex mountain skis helped some but at 60 or 80 mph your skis don't really do alot. But mine will still throw you if you arn't carefull. After a 100 mile ride in fields I am like a nervous cat.It feels like I rode 200 on my old sled.

How are you going 60-80mph in 4 feet of snow??

Have you hit anything with the sled? Bent A-arms? Have you checked your toe in since you changed the skis?

No haven't hit anything that I remember and I would doubt if dealer checked toe in when they changed the skis at last oil change. No this is not a speedster in 4' of snow.60-80 in 12" of snow.
