I bought one to replace stock on my 07 Attak GT. Hated to give up the great red graphics on stocker but, The tall one is fully functional. Only down side is requires two vertical support rods on dash panel that look stupid but are necessary to prevent shield from folding over at high speed. I don't know what genius at Yamaha thought of it!
Medium Height works good
Go for the one the next size down from the one that uses the supports, unless you need the extra height.

I put the next size up from stock (the one with supports) on my attak last year and took it back off, it was so tall that you have to look through it at times and it didn’t seem any wider than the stock one. I put it on because I was looking to keep my hands warmer and it didn’t seem to do that any better than the stock one, but it did keep the wind off of my chest and neck very well.
I got the tall windshield for my Apex and would never go back to anything shorter. I didn't like that it only came in clear/smoke @ edges so I had the entire windshield wrapped with black vinyl and had the chrome/silver diamond pattern on the hood continued up the windshield. IMO it looks great. As far as function it has made riding very enjoyable not having to fight the wind and cold. As far as the support brackets go they allowed me to mount some very functional mirrors that look halfway decent. I don't have any pictures yet but later this week I will have some along with part #'s for mounting the mirrors.

OTB, I have the same shield and would't go any shorter. I thought of mounting mirrors on vertical supports as well but thought they'd be to loose. Please post picture of your setup or e-mail a picture. Akso, please let me knoe what mirroe you used, Thanks studdog
