Has anyone tried putting in shims in the back of the secondary to raise their belts? I obviously haven't had a chance to test with my 09 yet but the belt looks pretty low in the secondary. I remember trying to adjust this in my RX1 but it tightened the deflection to the point where it was burning the belt.

Yammies don't ride as high as the others. Buy the .5mm shims from your dealer and give it a shot but its prolly good right now. Shims in it now are prolly 1mm.

I agree with trying the thinner shims. I had to shim my belts as they kept wearing - but a new belt SHOULD sit a little above the secondary.
Shredded 2 belts last year and I'm well into my 3rd in 3000 miles.

I have not blown a belt in 7 years including my turbo rx-1. Good clutching & cool temps in the faces really helps.

Wow, I've never blown a belt before, and I do a lot of powder riding, which is odd considering....I put 3400 kms on one belt last year and it's still in great shape.

That is great if you don't blow a belt all year...I tend to have to get a new one about every 2000 miles. Both my rev and my nytro were pretty much identical.
The group that I ride with are about the same situation as me. In fact, skyboz blew his belt at 1800 miles, and mine was within 50 miles of that.
