My friend helped his neighbour change the track and a few bearings on an 03 RX-1 and when they got it back together and started it they could hear what sounds like belt squeal when idling. He told me they didn't do anything to that side of the sled and I don't have all the details about what was changed but what should they be looking for?

Check the height of the belt in the secondary. Manual says <1.5mm above and > .5mm below the edge. If it is sitting up too high it will pull on the primary while idling. Check the clutch alignment for the 15mm offset. If you are not positive it is the belt take it off the machine and run it to see if the noise goes away.

Always happen with a new belt. On the bakside of the secundary is 3 shims that he most take out. after driving in the belt, put them bak. Nm for the clutch is 64nm fot the warrior -07

Belt squeal can be normal for a new belt. But, once the belt is broke in you do want to make sure the Belt Height adjustment is correct. I never mess with the adjustment when I put on a new belt. The squeal goes away after 50 miles.

last time i put a new belt on,of course it was squealing and i didnt feel like adjusting it,then someone told me to get a phazer belt and problem would be solved,it worked for me,ive never heard a belt squeal since,my new vector has a phazer belt and works just fine, plus its cheaper

DO YOU HAVE A PART # OR YEAR PHAZER TO GET THE BELT?
