I was updating my skid and found that my front suspension wheel assy shaft has about a 1/8" bend at the left side idler wheel. I noticed that wheels looked off and the collar was not locked down. Has anyone else had this happen? It's a steel shaft about .787" dia with a .320" hole thru. Was wondering about just making a solid shaft out of some harder material with shorter bolts. Any thoughts or ideas?
Here's a couple pics of the damage-
I plan on making one out of solid 3/4" drill rod and replacing the plastic bushings with bronze bushings and ID of the lock collars with steel sleeves. This will help increase the yield strength of the shaft. It looks like it bent right at the end of long bolt on the left side.
Has anyone else had this or is this something that happens to only those of us who have the KMOD suspensions?
