just finished 120 miles riding with the Hygear sport package. The 08 shortie is now near perfect. it finally rides and handles as good as my apex er, with way better performance when things get rough!plus no more knifing, this with stock skis and single runners.for a grand you can transform your quirky, hard to master Nytro into one of the best sleds on the snow.

Ditto on that. Last year I put the Sport X package on my XTX and couldn't be happier with it. Worth every penny. Still handles the bumps awesome like it always did, but now cruises the trails with aplomb as well. The guys at Hygear know their stuff.

X2 Sport X package was amazing last season

My 08 Nytro rides and handles great with stock everything other than the Pilot Skis I put on it. Maybe my sled is a freak because I keep reading all these complaints about the 08 Nytro's and after some adjustments mine handles awesome.

I'm with JDS. Pilot skis and front float pressure to 55lbs and I could not be happier with my nytro. Super light steering but still aggressive.

pilot skis are not good in the powder, like tug hill area. i ran them all last year with TR front springs and it was much better than stock.this year i put the stock skis back on with the additional Hygear mods.i don't know if the fox floats have a lower ride height than the gytr, but the TR springs that lowered the front was 60% of the key on the FX nytro.the other 40% was the center shock DR spring and revalve of all the shocks.if your happy with your Nytro, good. all i would say is you don't know what your missing.

Which pilots did you guys add? the 5.7's or 6.9's? I'll be picking up my xtx next week and am thinking the 6.9's will probably be best for on off trail riding?

i ran 5.7. i would like to know if the 6.9 track better in loose snow. with the 5.7 i could not get enough turning bite to hold the line in the corners or sloped grades. they are great on hard groomed trails though.

I agree with NytroD regarding the suspension setup being the real issue not the skis. I have ridden the pilots for only a few rides but we where blessed with some early season heavy powder snow riding this year and the sled with the pilots handled great in the powder. Keep in mind that the suspension has been adjusted to what I feel is the best settings for my riding style.
The RXT SE came with Floats and I believe that theses can be dialed in muh better than the standard suspension
