I do the same procedure as you and have never had any issues. After getting the sled up to operating temperature, make sure the heat exchangers are warming up properly. Check up the right one, across the back and down the left one. If they all warm up properly, you do not have any air locks. Make sure the over flow bottle under the dash is topped up to the cold level line as well.

I just did the same. All heat exchangers warmed up and seems to flow as it should. I am still extremely dissapointed in the cooling system on my 06 apex er. 10 minutes of idling at 15 degrees and my temp light came on.....

Another tip is to be patient and fill it "slowly" .... this helps to not cause some air problems.

Did you use diluted antifreeze? Straight up doesn't work as well.

Try Water Wetter it really helps ,you can find it at most auto parts stores , it stopped my sled from overheating.I just did the same. All heat exchangers warmed up and seems to flow as it should. I used prestone 50/50 pre diluted with 1/2 bottle of water wetter. I did flush the system and blew out anything that was left. I raised front end up above rear bleeder. Also for all of the do not mix Engine ice with standard coolant I mixed some in a jog and we will see if it gels at all.....Im not thinking it will.
