Does anyone know the coolant flow of the rs and how the heated coolant from the block heater is going to circulate past the thermostat? How warm will the coolant get? and how much wattage the heater takes?

Not sure about the coolant flow past the thermostate. I did have one on my 03 RX1 and yesterday put one on my 04 RX1..They work great and the whole motor gets warm so somehow it is getting past the thermostate. I assume heat from the bottom side is enough to cause the thermostate to open..

Thanks for the info smoke. Does it also melt the snow and ice from the runningboards? that would be cool too.

Nope doesn't get that hot...Even though these things start in really cold weather they sound like a tractor if it's really cold....Can't be good for the machine...Use the block heater whenever I can...

If this motor is anything like the one in my 2000 SXR700 there isn't a thermostat in there at all.

The parts book clearly shows a t-stat, can anyone explain where the heater goes and how it circulates....Thanks
