First off, this site rocks and I love everything about it.

I bought the sled used 2 years ago with the seat on it and I really never have liked it since the 03 RX-1 is a bit tippy to begin, and I'm 6'7' 220 LBS and seems to smash "The Boys" if ya know what I mean if I sit down and ride and slide forward.

Here's the real problem. Last Spring I loaned out the sled to one of my mega rich clients. Apparently his girlfriend rode on the back and "Smashed" the seat rest bump down with her.... larger than average rump. :o|

Smashed it down to the heat shield on the exhaust on a warm day, melted the plastic and Styrofoam. I can't get the zipper undone to fix it because the zip is melted too.

Anyone have a suggestion on fixing it? It's really not a functional thing for me as it is aesthetics. :dunno:

Driver er like she's stolen :flag:

Boss seat

Send her back to Boss and they can fix it. They put a whole new cover on mine and it didn't fit like they wanted it to so they built me an entirely new seat for $125.

Did it have the felt liner that has a heat resistant padding you rivet to the tunnel and stock heat shield that came with it? If not this might be why your seat melted (and could result in a reasonable fix from BOSS if you call them).

Here's a picture of my tunnel with the seat off the black felt going from the tank and over the rear heat shield is what I was refering to.
