i just got my new boss seat in the mail today. it is the style without the exhaust gap in the back because i have a glasspack style exhaust. what kind of heat shielding do i need over my exhaust? i just set the seat on the sled and it looks like i have to trim the gas tank cowling. and the instruction they sent with suck!!!

Yeah, instructions suck. I did NOT have to trim my cowling, just had to stuff it a bit but looks good. As far as covering the hole, I used aluminum sheeting (thin stuff) I got at ace hardware. It is think enough that I could cut it with some heavy scissors. I cut the piece 16" x 17" x 16"...that is to say it would be a perfect square except at the front end it is 17" wide....this allows you to bend it to fit the contours of the heat shielding where the pipe runs but at the back it is flat. Make sure you get it centered....rough out the bends up front, then center it again, drill two holes up front and rivet it. The drill/rivet starting in the middle of the sides working forward to the corner, then back almost to the corner. Then finally I started in the middle of the back and went from the center out on that as well. I also relocated my crossover tube since it didn't work anymore without the giant stamped metal piece that used to hold the muffler in place. It was a pain but I finally got it done right.

Here you go......just waiting on the blue anodized Jimmy Blaze 8" 2 wheel kit to come and then polish the tunnel and should be good to go.

I like the seat! What's it weight? Dude, you need a Vanamburgh tunnel on that thing! It would look awesome with that seat!

I'm not sure there isn't two lengths of Boss seat available. When I bought mine from Freak we went back and forth quite a few times trying to figure out which one would cover the exhaust cutout. I think I have the longer one .
Also here's a pic of juniors sled being built. Started with mating my old RX1 tunnel sides to a Mountain Max bulkhead. It'll be all pretty when it's finished. I'm putting a fan cooled in it and am shooting for low 300's weight wise. We'll see if we can do it.

Low 300's! Dude, you are the man if that can be done without spending 20K. My buddy has a shop here in town and builds custom Polaris 440IQ chassis with Union Bay engines that are down to around 430lbs. with 180-200hp. Their sick! 300.......that seems awful low. keep us updated!

They must be running liquids in those right cause 430 for a fan is not light. When I said low 300's I am thinking 325-330 maybe that's optimistic but what's in the pic is 44lbs so far. I think I can do it. Guess time will tell.

Ordered a Hartman tunnel extension and a Boss seat today. That will take care of that damn exhaust hole. Can't wait to see them on!
