In western Alaska, got my land ready for a new house this summer, put away salmon for the winter, milled more lumber, caught a moose for more protein, caught a small brown bear, and counted the days until winter arrives...getting colder by the day. The wife gathered 10-15 gallons of blueberries, and cut countless salmon for drying.
My Venture MP operated flawlessly last winter, and can't wait to take her out again. Only thing i'm watching is the steering. It has gotten a little sloppy, but not worried about it yet. Hoping we get a bunch of snow so I can install my Simmons Gen II's. Wishing I could pull the trigger on another Yamaha off of Craigslist, but need to buy a house first. God's blessings on you all, and hoping for a fun, safe winter to come for everyone!

Nice pictures ! Keep them coming . I have been to Alaska but didn't get a chance to go into the back country. I would love to go back some day. Maybe when the kids are all gone..

Thanks guys,
It's a dream of mine to learn to become proficient at shooting the compound bow, and taking a whitetail deer someday with one. Also want to do an elk hunt some day. I actually grew up a city kid in the beautiful city of Anchorage...I left Unalakleet when i was 12. Moved back 'home' with my wife and kids 6 years ago and learned to hunt, learned that Yamahas almost never get towed back home in winter, so bought one. I work for the regional school district and we get lots of teachers here from rural Wisconsin, Montana, Northern Michigan, Minnesota, and some other rural parts of northern states. Many of them stay for many years, or end up calling Alaska home.

Ok, I lied...I haven't personally heard of a Yamaha being towed home(other than the Iron Dog race...i don't think it was engine related)
