Can I stud?

I wanted to know it I can stud my track? Ok here is what I am going to have I am going to have a 136 expert x with a 1.25 track 9834!
Do I have to go to a 8 tooth drive or can I stay with the stock 9?
please help me out I want to do this the right way!

Stock drivers are fine. You will need to add some protection to the existing protectors. If you want Ill take some pics of what I did for your reference...BBY
 
Hi, I'm also adding studs, lug screws to be specific. BBYOU...Yes, I'd like to see some pics of what you did to your protectors as I'm up against the same issues of clearance.
 
tembo, I have seen some major damage with those lug studs. Im taking lugs that have completely been shreaded due to the lug studs. You may want to reconsider. JMO. I will post pics shortly...BBY
 
I agree with BBY I do not like the lug studs. If you want to stud use conventional studs.
The additional protection needs to be added to the height of the protectors ahead of the heat exchanger in the tunnel. I did not add any to mine last year with a 9833 1.25 track and 1.375 studs but maybe I'm just lucky. This year I will be using a 136" X 1" track with 1.375" studs, I will be adding the additional protection this year just to be safe. 8)
