Now you can have the prettiest looking, hardest working Sport Utility Sled on the snow. Forget the red paint, give us skiis that are two inches wider, ski stance four inches wider, a sway bar, better weldments on the pivots and a few minor improvments and you will have the perfect all round multi-use sled. Does look pretty though......

I have purchased a set of 11 inch ski skins and they do make a considerable difference in the deep stuff. Tom have you had the opportunity to compare the 06 to the 07 with regard to the hi and lo range? I only have 6000 km on my sled yet so I don't want to trade if the there is not much of a difference. That red sure does catch your eye though

I love the candy red color. I picked up my 08 on 1/19 and was pleased to see it matched the paint of my friends Attack. I need to do something about the handling in the twisties...I was lifting a ski way to far for comfort. Sometimes I was full lock and still going straight. The 4" carbides are whimpy and are outmatched by the 136 studs on the track so I need 6" or 8" carbides for the skis. After that I may try to get a stabilizer bar that fits. Or maybe I should just slow down and realize this beast is a utility sled. Yeah, like that will happen.

Congrats on the new 2008 VK Viking Pro eric3793. To reduce some of the ski lift adjust all of the shocks a bit to the firmer settings. You may notice that as they come from the factory, all shocks are on the softest settings and need to be set to each riders style and preference. When your ski rods need to be replaced, go with at least 6 inch carbides. If you install studs keep them away from the heat exchanger side if possible, or install some sort of stud protector. I have not done this with mine even though I do use studs, but I have heard rumors of one or two others who have damaged the heat exchanger using studded tracks. To bad they didn't come with adjustable transfer rods and a sway bar though. If you come up with a sway bar install let us know how you did it. Good luck and have fun.

Thanks for the tip on the firmer front shock setting. It worked quite well and noticeably reduced the ski lift. Now I need to get something done to the rear suspension to soften it up a bit. We rode some bumpy ITS trails Saturday and it acted like it was frozen up...not much suspension travel at all. We were grooming the night before so the suspension was packed with snow in the morning. Maybe it was frozen up. The pounding of the rough trail should have loosened it up but it didn't.
My buddy has an AC 660 WT and it rides like a limo compared to the Yamaha.

You might want to try a pair of Stud Boy Deuce Bars on the skis. Dual runner bars like Woodys Doolys, but shaped like the single Shaper bars. They eliminate darting AND improve handling in corners. A friend has been using the 4½" carbide model with much success on his Vector. My impression is 4½ dual bar is at least as effective as 6" on a single runner but they are also available with 6" and 9" carbide, all sizes at 60°.

Thanks, I'll try a pair of the Deuce bars. Anyone know how I can get a set of 11" skins for my '08 VK? Canadian dealers do not seem interested in mailing me a pair. I'm in Maine.
