has anyone heard of anyone switching a grizz over to dual carbs off a raptor ?

I plan to put my 686 cylinder and a mudbuster cam in a grizz

I know the rpm's will be nothing like I turn with the raptor but the twin 33mm carbs are barely enough for my raptor and most 686 raptor guys go to bigger carbs so Im thinking they would work good in a lower rpm 686

I dont see the single 42mm being enough carb to get full potential

feel free to share your thoughts

while i havent heard of anyone ever doing that,my first impression is that it wouldnt be worth the hassle.space, cost and the re-work wouldnt be worth any gains.generally with 2 carbs your after more top-end,so the bottom could suffer.
it would be interesting if you could bolt a dual-carb set up from a raptor on there or better yet a retro- fit of the new fuel injection and a 686 kit for the raptor-whaddya think, lets call yamaha LaLaLa

I really looked mine over when I decided to sell my raptor but the air box didn't look easy. Not much room there to play with.

looks like I'll have a grizz before my raptor sells so that'll give me a chance to try things as far as fit .. I can make a new air box if needbe

the raptor carbs are cv carbs that open only as demanded so they only open as more air flow is required so its hard to over carb with that style carb

Im thinking with the 686 piston and the 10 3/4 to 1 compression and mud buster cam they would work good

probly would be over kill on a stock grizz .. that would explain why yamaha didnt use them from the factory

btw I've always been a honda guy growing up :ORC but they have fell way behind now adays :yam:
