Does anyone know the simpliest way to change out a track and rear suspension on a 2008 yamaha nytro? I not sure how to remove the drivetrain. I've heard different option on the matter. I'm installing a rear timbersled ( which seems easy enough), but to remove the old track and install a new one I'm not sure. Please if anyone can help or give me directions to find it I would appreciate it. Sorry if this question has already been ask and answered in the past on this forum.

Just installed Timbersled and Powerclaw 162".

Not too bad. Pay attention when you pull the chaincase apart, there is a little spring that might want to escape. Check out ttabs sticky at the top of the Nytro MTX forum. Lots of pictures and step by step there that is better than manual.

Manual is necessary, but a little lacking when there is an exploded parts schematic and it says to remove in this order and replace in the reverse order.

After reading all the problems people had with putting the chaincase back together I was a little paranoid when I started it up and put it in reverse the first time. It all worked out fine.

Read the Ttabs sticky...it's invaluable.

there is an instruction for this in the TTAB mod shop, it is pinned at the top of this section...instructions for installing the TImbersled and for changing the track...good pics and all...

it is pretty simple to do. There is also info on tech side of this site. I do not have a manual and i did not have any problems.

IF you have reverse the lever needs to be up when sliding back on and there is a spot you will just feel when you slide it on.

My crankshaft bolt was broken so that may be an issue.

Dry Driveshaft Bearing

Hey make sure you check your PTO side driveshaft bearing (left side). My dealer called and told me they were going dry and failing.
Yup, checked mine and it was dry. (2500 miles)
(Gently pry off the grease seal with a small screwdriver or dental pick to check it)

If you've ever towed out a sled with a locked track you know what a PITA it is.

Cheers,

LG

good call Snocattin....gonna have to check mine out...

Good, I don't want to tow you out, even though I owe you one.
The issue is most likely exacerbated on our boosted sleds.
