My trailers sits near some trees and the fenders look like crap.
I tried soap & water, metal polish, heard both to use 00 steel wool and not to use it so I haven't yet.

I want to get a good uniform surface and shine if possible. What do you guys use to detail these?

Thanks

I Love this stuff....Cleaned the Chrome Strips on the Horse Trailer like NEW AGAIN, bought it online out of Calgary Alberta I believe Mark ;)!

Never Dull polishing pad from the auto parts store. If that won't cut it I break out the sisal wheel and polishing compounds to progress to a flannel wheel. Go that route and they'll be mirrors.

Go to Napa they have an aluminum cleaner that you just spray on and let sit for a couple minutes and BAM brite aluminum and if there is more oxidation us a scrub brush to help remove the crude. no it does not polish but make them look like brand new I do my fenders every year. a spray bottle cost around 13 dollars.

Try product called NICE N EASY aluminum wash, comes in Gal or Qts...... I have been using on my 12 yr old Aluminum horse trailer for years 2 or 3 times a year, dilluted. Trailer looks like new ;),,... Also used on neglected 2 place renegrade inline I bought last year ...works great..... might need to use full strength first time. But really rinse rinse rinse with clean water . ;)!

Thanks guys that's what I wanted nice and easy

X2. Alumibrite aluminum cleaner. Spray on, wait, and rinse. Works great.

have you guys used the spray on stuff for your foot rails too? mine have some oxidation i want to clean up but polishing it away sucks because of all the holes and edges, it would be nice to spray and rinse then only polish it easy so it will stay that way.

I bet it will work but use caution as the seat and such may not like that stuff and also if you dont get it everywhere you will be see it.

Any aluminum product that cleans oxidation with a spray is going to be caustic ie a acid, they just eat the aluminum oxide surface layer off to expose raw aluminum. Any plastic or wiring is not going to appreciate the joke

Yea I was expecting it to be very aggressive. I have vinyl on the side tunnel (no worries about seat or wiring) so I just want to clean it up where I actually stand. I'll have to swing by the NAPA and see if they have it as I didn't have any luck at Autozone, Advance, or ORilleys. Thanks for the input and I will definitely be careful of where I spray it and block off the foot wells at the front just in case it runs down the boards before I can rinse it off.
