Hey everyone.
I just recently bought a 2006 Apex GT and looking to put a clutch kit on the machine. If someone could please put input on that it would be well appreciated.
Next I know I have to get studs in order to make the clutch kit worth while. I'm looking for more input from people on here. Is it worth putting studs on this sled, and i know I have to atleast put on 144 studs, but I was curious as to which studs are the best out there. I had my last sled studded but I just brough it to my dealer and had it studed.
All of your input is again well appreciated and I'm excited to be apart of the Yamaha family now.

Clutch kits???? Many good one's out there like Ulmer, Pro-line, Simmons just to name a few. Studs??? There are many good studs too. I personally like the quality of Woody's. Give Matt a shout at www.thespeedshop1.com and he will steer you in the right direction on both items.

I would never ride a sled without studs.. THey will and can save your life!
I run 144 studs down the middle (1.325 length) Woody SS studs with double and round aluminum backers.. VERY DURABLE.. and i got a great deal on them from port yamaha! ( i dont like to stud the outsides of the track due to eas of tear outs)
As far as the clutching goes.. there are several brands to buy.. Ulmerracing, proline, simonscpr, and I know Matt from THESPEEDSHOP1.COM is working on a killer setup that he claims will dominate all (he has tested all kits)

I appreciate the replies. What I am looking at dollar wise for the 144 studs with everything needed. I can get someone to put them in, i just need all the parts.
So just go there and ask for the Woody's SS with double and rount aluminum backers?
Thanks again

You would have to email PORT yamaha for exact prices..
You could also just use round backers (would be cheaper)
I think they were about 1.35 each with backer and nut..
