I am heading out to Blue River BC soon. I will be running 11psi on my Super. I have never run with 11PSI before, in the mountains, only 6psi. Does anyone have a good starting point for the clutching with my set up for 3500-7000ft soI can do more riding, not tuning? Stock gearing.

You might be better off sending Allen Ulmer a pm or call him to get the right info quicker? I see you have his clutching, he should be able to tell you right away what to change.

run 66g polaris weights and pins grind the tips just a but so they clear with a yamaha orange primary spring and 3 washers cut 30 thou. off the primary sheaves run a multi angle shock wave helix with 60 thou. cut off the end 1 turn out and a black yellow spring and hang on best clutch kit ever this apex rocks runs 10800-11000 depending on conditions ----2006 Apex GT

I agree with Nate. Yamaha actually asks for Ulmers opinion on some of their clutching on sleds etc. He is awesome with clutching...

i heard a lot of good things about allen's clutching but does he offer a overdrive on both primary and secondary clutches , this apex pulls 122mph on the dream meter and its a fairly simple process remove the primary clutch split the sheaves and machine .030" off both right at the bottom where the belt engages and purchase the multi angle shockwave then machine 060" off the clip end this allows the belt to ride roughly 1/2" higher in the primary clutch thus overdrive, then buy polaris 66 gram weights and pins(bolts) grind 1/8" of the tip on the inside now you can start dialing it in with the shockwave helix loosen the allen key and turn the ring 1 turn is equivalent to 4 degrees of helix cam , mine is turned in all the way (min angle)so i imagine with a turbo or supercharger you can turn it out all the way and feed it the entire helix angle , i cant believe no one has heard about this, the clutch engages at 4500 rpm and is very smooth unlike some harsh engagement kits , don't get me wrong when you hammer it off the line the front end lifts a foot off the ground and hang on plus it uses stock yamaha springs orange in the primary (stiffest spring) and black /yellow in the secondary @70 degrees the belt hardly wears and i usually get 3 years out of 1 belt
