Didn't find anything in a search. I have an error code "12" and I'm 300 miles from the truck in Hornepayne, Ontario. Anybody have any ideas or similar experience with this code?

Sounds like a loose connection on the crank sensor or the back of the guage pod. If the engine is running and your getting a 12, I would suspect the back of the gage.

Engine NOT Starting. (Crank, but no Fire) Yellow light flashing, engine symbol flashing with code 12 in the display. Checked all wiring for problems. The engine ran normally until it was turned off. Tried to restart 2 minutes later and it would not fire. (what a nice thing to have happen 300 miles out on a 900 mile loop in Canada, no dealers, no parts, and no rental sleds)

I do not recall ever hearing of that sensor going bad. You may want to recheck the connection to it and recheck the ECU connection. Also look for wire shorts by the ECU. Then disconnect battery and gage. Reconnect battery and gage. Check for spark.

Is there a way to reset codes or clear them, I had my sled stop and flash bunch of codes. Found the speed sensor chewed up. Re[laced the bearing and sensor but sled still won't start. Do I have to clear codes? If so, how? No fuel pump action and no power to the pump. Ideas

Disconnect battery and gage? I am not sure about that. Never had the ECU shut mine off. For the less significant codes, they always cleared themselves.

Crankshaft position sensor circuit OPEN. (It should be 500 ohms @ 68 degrees) Wiring perfect. Did anybody else ever have one fail?

Looks like you found the problem.

It seems that one other than myself is haveing the same problem, code 12 and won't start. I asked in another question yesterday where the crank postion sensor is and where the connector is. No reply on that question.
I need a little help. I can't find the part on the port yamaha part site, and my dealer parts guy can't find it either.

It could be integrated into the stator. I'll go take a look at the Tech Manual and get back to you...
On Edit: Yep, The Crank Position Sensor is part of the stator/magneto. You have five wires coming out of your stator/magneto (versus the three that most others have). 3 White Wires and a Black/Blue and a Grey wire. The Black/Blue and Grey wires are the stator's/magneto's crank position sensor circuit.

This happened to me as well... 2006 Apex GT. Need to find the stator/magneto to check this. Has anyone else ever have this happen since last year? how much was the new stator/magneto?
Wonder if you can re-place stator and magneto with a 2011 type>they put out more juice! suckS that it failed that far in.really sucks!

Yeah I checked the ohms and everything is reading 38000 ohms with two different meters. Seams high? probably means the circuit is open. I am thinking it is the sensor that is shot. Have to go to the dealership and figure out what I can use and what I will need.
