Mr sled, you should make this a sticky....
Do not use cometic head gaskets unless you closely examined its fabrication!
Lot's of those are defective by design. The "embossement" surounding each
holes in gasket, cylinders, oil passages and coolant passages are sometimes
MISSING! usually coolant and/ or oil and if you don't pay enough attention
the gasket looks perfectly ok BUT, you will be sory to have to dissasemble the whole thing AGAIN to remove that :drink: gasket if it is defective!...
Go safe and use 2 or 3 Yam. gaskets ;)!

I have used them for the past 2 years with no issues. Last year the .057 and this year the .054. I guess i got ones from good runs. I don't get it. I would think they are all made on the same machine. I know 2 othe r guys using them without problems either.

2 0.54 's ...........no probs at all......

I have had two that were bad. Here is a pic of where they are defective. The flat spot that makes the water seal is cut too thin or just plain not there. Someone was :drink: at cometic when the cut these.
I just dont think its worth it when two yammys are better and the same price.

Do yourself a favor, leave your engine stock. They run fantastic with stock gaskets and turbo and you know they were assembled right.
