Could someone post up a how to or a link on bleeding the coolant system on the Phazer/Venture Lite?
I've been seeing the temperature light come on this year and it never did before so I want to bleed the system as a first attempt to try and solve this. I noticed that the coolant is about 3/4" below the cold mark when the engine is cold so it will need topping up. Is it normal for the coolant to go down over time? - I now have 15,500Km on the '08 VL. The light comes on mostly in low snow conditions even when the outside temp is below freezing. Any other suggestions would be appreciated.
thanks,

If its still the coolant from Yamaha I would change it, mix to temps for your area.

To bleed it there should be a metal hose just under the roolant resavoir. There will be a black cap you remove to bleed the system.

Put a hose on the valve to keep coolant from spraying all over the place to it can drain into a container when bleeding.

Make sure the resavoir does not empty while your bleeding it or it may introduce more air into the system.

Hope that helps!

Okay, I'm way over due for a coolant change then. Should start reading the manual I guess so I'll be more up to date on maintenance!
What are people using for coolant? I believe the manual says Ethylene Glycol. I know in autos some manufacturers require a certain type; colour, etc.
Found an how-to link here:
