Wow! Nice pics!! In the last picture, I'm surprised how much shorter the '09 arms are compared to the '08!

sleds
(3) Two race sleds and one practice. The silver arms are the ones I ordered for updating my partners 08 Nytro. The whole front end update minus the clip is around 1200 dollars over the counter price.

That actually sounds right. When I went over to Rich's Yamaha in Lockport, I asked them about this. They said at there Tech meeting for the dealers that it could run up to $1,500.00 for the 08 to be close to the 09's. Depending what part of the world your in $1,200-$1,500.00 sounds like the dollar amount. Just think what they will have for 2010

how about the difference in the bottom arms? could you get away with just changing the top arms out on the 08 or is there any significant difference in the bottom also? the top arm is obviously different....it is shorter with a different angle/sweep and thicker on the mount tube..

Thanks for the pics Mark. So I'm under the impression that aside from the gussets plates, there is no difference between the '09 front clip and the '08? Are the a-arm mounting holes for the top a-arm larger diameter or is the mount also beefed up?
The cost of updating to '09 specs is very steep. Seems like an after market company could offer laid back spindles for way less along with machined upper ball joints and the geometry changes could be bolted on to an '08. In addition, a guy could take your advice and either weld gussets onto their '08 front clip, or have it done and save a bunch of dollars over an '09 front clip.

The shorter a arm must result in the camber change thats so obvious on the 09 sleds

Front Clip
Aside from the gusseting , the front clip appears to be the same, I haven't had one out and laid them side by side though. There could be some slight angle changes.....

I've been informed that the 08 clip part number is being replaced by the 09 clip part number, so that means there are no changes save for the bracing.

From the sounds of things I'm guessing they are the same. If I hear something different I'll make a post.

If the tech deal happened already, do the dealers now know what to do with the 08's to fix them properly? I have been waiting to hear if they know what they are going to do, as mine probably has a bent subframe......Brian
