Hey guys, I was wondering what I need to mount up some curve xs skis on my 17 Apex? Will my rubbers work? Or do I have to buy their mounting kit? Will stock Yamaha pull handles fit these skis? Also looking for carbide suggestions. I ride in all conditions. Thanks.

I suggest buying their mounting kit. Why try to cobble everything together when they've done it for you?
I installed curves on my Apex and Arctic Cat, but had my dealer install a set on my Sidewinder when it came out of the crate. They mistakenly used the Yamaha hardware and ground down crap to make it work. The rubbers made the skis act odd.
I called Cody at Curves and in describing the issues....we realized the screw-up. I swapped out the pads and she rides like she's on rails. The Yamaha pads are simply not formed for the Curve skis....causing odd down pressure.
Cody is constantly listening to feedback and their customer service is fantastic.
For carbides, I use Slim Jims on everything. For me at least, the ability to carve through corners is great. The carbides seem to wear in the front on my Apex. Last season, I shimmed the skis and I could feel they rode much flatter, if that makes sense. That said, I removed the shims to get better bite....preferring to replace carbides vs less grab.

No....but sort of.
If you go to Woody's, you'll see the profile of Doolies or Dualies (sp?) are different. I believe the Doolies are flat with 2 runners welded below.
The Slim Jims look like an upside down "U". If I'm not mistaken, it's all one piece with the carbide recessed into to arms of the U.
I do not know the difference....but I like the fact the Slim Jims are a solid piece.
Others may suggest SnowTrackers. I have no experience with these...but I hear good things.

I bought my set of Curves from Travis at BOP and he had a kit where I could use my stock rubbers. I only had to purchase their hardware kit since I wanted all stainless steel hardware for the ski bolts and such. Although Curve now finally offers color ski loops, I also know Travis was able to make a kit that used a certain year Yamaha loop which can save you some extra cash. A common complaint of the Curves is that the may require more effort to steer but with PS, I do not notice it; I only notice the hard steering when switching back to my 08 Apex.

get them with the mounting kit and handles as stock handles do not fit. i had early verions of the mounting kit and ended up re using my stock rubbers with a 1/2" thick peice of conveyor belt in the ski under the stock rubber with about 1/4" thick shim at the rear of the rubber on my xtx.

Curves From Travis.
I tend to shim the ski rubbers anyway, even the fully curve setup on my apex, to get what I want. Basically, with the sled in the air, I want the skis just a touch up in the front, which makes heel pressure, or pressure behind the spindle, pushing down on the back of the ski. This makes a self centering effect, reduces darting, but has a slight push and slightly harder steering. Pressure in front of the spindle makes for easy steering, darting, and with too much, a really scary ride! I shim with thin slices of rubber under the main piece. Also, I shim for zero play...my skis are tight, and if you push in the front or rear, they return to where they were, if you follow me.
