Hi guys just looking for some input.
I went to the yammie dealer today to try his leftover Nytro RTX 40th anny sled. The first time I took it out the front shocks were set a 80PSI, which was way to stiff. I had them drop it to 50PSI and this made a big difference. I felt the rear end was extremely stiff, instead absorbing some bumps it felt like it was bouncing off of them. Anyways I can pick it up for 6875 with a set of new dooly carbides or studded with 96 studs for 7235. This sled has 37 miles on it. What do you think. I have been riding a REV chassis sled and really like it, I felt I could drive much harder and more confident on that when comparing to the nytro.
Thanks for your input.

It takes time to adjust to it and adjust the suspension,But if you don't like it AT all stay with the rev? Do you like the seating position or the motor?

My question is how soft can you get the rear suspension without re-ralving. If the ride is still harsh with the suspension on the softest setting then I know its not for me. I know the price is damn good. Those are OTD prices too.

Are you a sit down type of rider or do you like to throw your weight around to help cornering? I can't comment on how soft it can go,But if you ride aggressive you should be able to dial it in the way you want. Also,The year is almost over. Just wait and see what 010s are out,That will drop that price even lower!

If the skid was, in fact, bouncing off the bumps it's likely the compression dampening and/or torsion spring was set too high for your weight. Both are easy to fix. Go back for another ride and ask the dealer to back out the compression screw 2-3 clicks and make sure the torsion spring is not set on high - unless you're over 250.
After you get it home set the center spring to zero preload and do a more fine-tuning as you get miles on the sled. You can get the RTX suspension to be pretty soft, but you won’t want to keep it that way for long.

I think I am going to call him tomorrow I also can test ride an 09 and compare it to the 08, but the 08 is such a great deal, I just wonder how much better the 09 really is. If he can soften the rear suspension, i think I could get it fine tuned, But i would like to try it very soft and see what the differences are.

i rode and 09 Std and i wasnt impressed i mean its less twitchy and all of that but onceu get used to riding an 08 its kinda nice to turn the skis and have the sled go there idk IMO I guess the 09 feels NUMB idk id def take an 09 XTX like stopdropandroll with all his upgrades haha hes got a sweet sled
I own a 08RTX, it rides incredible, like its on rails, finally to the point where I don't miss my dialed in REV. Great motor, great seating position. All this happiness came at a cost though as I have quite a bit of extra money into the sled to make it right for me. Skis, shock revalves, the handwarmers are terrible. I would do like stated and wait for the 2010's and buy a 09,,,YMMV

All sled prices at this point in the season are amazingly low.
You will be able to fine tune the rtx to your needs with a little time.

Thanks for the input guys. I am picking the sled up this afternoon. Too much sled to pass up and a great price! I am pretty sure I can get it dialed in with the help of this forum and my family.
