Looks like I'm a renter again this year, darn financial priorities!!
I have 2 goals to help narrow my future purhcase decision ( maybe if I win the lottery, or at least when my kids daycare bills stop kicking my butt
) -
1) Ride a Nytro ( Liked the Phazer I rented, but not enough power, Loved the Vector EFI motor but too relaxed of a seating position)
2) Ride the Doo 1200 ( E-tec 600 motor sucked, but liked the XP chassis although it too seemed a bit too relaxed seating wise)
I don't see either of these sleds in rental fleets anywhere in MI - so when will the Yamaha demo rides schedule be released?

Don't know about Yamaha rentals but you can rent Ski Doo in Curtis at
http://www.fishandhuntshop.com/rentals.htm
If anyone in the state rents Yamaha's it would be these guys.

Yup, I rented the etec from fish and hunt last year. Meyer in ishpeming rented me the vector. My dealer in Indian river that I usually rent from was going to sell his phazers to rent something else, but with last years lack of snow I'm not sure his plans now.
There are two sleds I want to try out this winter. Neither is a Yamaha.

If you didn't like the 600etec, you will probably be disapointed in the 1200 4tec as well but to each their own.

You are probably right srx, that 600 e-tec just didn't have the fun factor that the Vector motor did. I previously owned a nicely modded zrt and a zr800 - I think if I buy I'm going to need the power to be satisfied! That and the fuel and oil mileage was a big downer on the e-tec.

I have 2 friends that have identical renegade 600 etecs. To be honest, I hated the xp chassis compared to the rev chassis. Rides to flat, probably why they have a sideways pivot point in the rear skid of their new mountain sled. I did like the 600 etec engine compared to the SDI, but 1 of the etecs already had a meltdown in 6000 miles. Strange enough it was the friends sled who actually does the preventative maintaince. Doo blames a cooling system issue, but it only melted one piston.
The 1200 etec has power but sounds like a sewing machine and isn't responsive like a yamaha in stock form.

Doo 4s 1200 Aok about 135 HP but stuck at about 15mpg so Vector does better MPG wise. 600etec about 118 HP so big difference in HP but then different chassis heavier with Doo 4s too. 600etec not enough poines for me but Doo1200 4s is very responsive really no comparo IMO like 4s much better. Still hoping for about 145HP Yam or Doo 4s above the 120 class that uses regular gas in a power cruiser & Doo probably get there sooner than Yam..

Yup, had a good time on the Vector that I rented from Meyer's 2 years ago. At that time they had the Phazer, Vector and a couple 2 strokes for rent. No Nytro.
