Let me start by saying we have had 50 CM of snow in three days...I know my American friends are saying WHAT THE HELL IS A CENTIMETER. About 20"...Started out in the AM -32 Celcius. American guys now saying what the hell is Celcius, trailered for about an hour. -31 C when we got there. Started no problem. So did the other three two strokes 500 Ski Doo Legend, 99 ZR 770 and a 05 600 HO. Did I mention we had ***50 CM OF SNOW*** :tg: :tg: :tg:

hahahahahahahahaahahhahahahahah!!!!!!!

Last year in WAWA, Canada it got down to -56F and warmed up to -40F and the sleds still started. I honestly don't know why a block heater, coolant heater or a battery warmer is necessary? I didn't roll over as fast as the sled did, Heh Heh...

BTW -40F = -40C

What Smokey forgot to mention is that it's too much snow for him. Refer to photo of him digging out his sled.

-33C This morning with the W.C. of -45C, Left mine in the back of my truck last night and it was just covered in frost. When I sat on it the seat was like a rock, flip the choke to max & it fired right up quick. Gotta love those Sleds :yam:

I just put on the FULL ECP KIT, and it starts and sounds even better than before, and it was already great...............It's turbo time next ;)!

Matts got me wanting one for next season ;)!

Last winter here in N.H. we had many, many nights of -20F or colder, and the RX fired every time. Can't say the same for a few other vehicles around. I was working as a tech for a small shop, and it got so that we wouldn't answer the phone for the first hour of the morning because we were getting constant calls for jump starts, frozen engines (yea, the coolant mixture! Not our regular customers though...they were all checked for -50 protection), frozen fuel lines, and even flat tires because of the cold. WHAT? FLAT TIRES? Yup. Oh, and during the extremely cold month of constant sub zero weather, we had to replace tons of broken springs and blown shocks because of the cold. Gotta love cold weather...give me 20 degrees and 4 feet of snow and I'll be happy.

Carefull REVSTER....I was being nice....I didn't mention to everyone that you forgot to buy gas before we left and we had to drive back 20 miles to get you gas...Or the fact that I have a picture of the ZR700 on a rope behind the RX1 that day...
:yam: :4STroke:

I agree my buddies RX-1 always started fine in frigid temps. But even though it starts at those temps a coolant heater isn't a bad idea. Warm oil flows better therfore some less wear on a warm engine.
