Just picked up my new 2010 RTX SE sled. Ive got a question I'm 6'2"and I wiegh 260lb. am i going to have to put in stiffer torsion springs (or can i get away with hygear torsion spring spacers) and if so which springs. I ride pretty hard on tug hill, usually as fast as the sled will allow.

I have the 09 SE, I weigh 230 with no gear on, also like to think that I ride it hard and I don't have any problems bottoming out. She is plenty stiff I think. If I were you I would ride it as is and see what you think.

Do the hygear torsion spring spacers fit on the SE? I thought I read that they didn't fit...maybe not though

hygear torsion spring spacers

as far as I know they have them for the se at least they did at the big east snow show but I didnt have the sled then and I didnt want to buy anything for a sled I didnt have. I think I will try the spacers and the overload adjusters from hi performance.

Yamaha sell the springs in 3 seperate tensions. I went with the middle one, because I'm 220 without gear on. I also ride Tug Hill on the weekends, and we know how that can be. When we finally get some snow I'll let you know how they are.

Try these maybe.

They have 4 adjustments on them not 3. Could be the little bit more you think you may need.

SRX 900,

DO yourself a favor and get the stiffer springs with the candles. Anyone over 250 without gear would probably need it. I guess I would rather a heavier spring to set ride height on the light to medium side than have everything maxed out. Do not know what comes in the SE. I got the 2100 (came with 1900) for the FX and they were perfect.

I have the Hy Gear spacers and I'm 6'6" 265lbs. I rode at the Med position last year. I have the trail pro package also and when I set it at the Hard position it was like riding on a rock. I did not make it a mile before I switched it back to Med. I just sent my shocks back to get them softened up this year.
