Please.....Doo Mod 2 owners who run communicators only.

There are several brands of communicators on the market. What do you have on your Mod 2? Likes? Dislikes?

Wanting to buy a pair and don't want to be pennywise and dollar foolish. I really don't care about telephone answering capabilities, music playback, etc. Just crisp, clear, hassle free communications with the other rider (wife, kids). One unit will be frequently moved from one helmet to another.

Thanks in advance for helping me spend more money on this sport! :letsnow:

4strokeluvr111, One thing I noticed on my brothers new mod2 helmet is that it came with an extra ear pad with a cut out in the middle for installing a speaker. I have 4 of these helmets and not one of them came with one. I'm wondering if the Ski Doo accessory catalog would show this ear pc and then what communicator goes with it. Might give you some idea of what will fit in that helmet.

Dan - I'll check my Mod 2 and see if it has the cutout. I just ordered a yellow sunscreen (to replace the grey) for it from BRP and recall seeing something about communicator earpiece in the BRP catalog.

But....I'm not really concerned about the earpiece....maybe I should be? I dunno. Just looking for overall likes and dislikes but haven't been getting any feedback.

When my circa 2001 Collett Communicator died a while back, I looked around and concluded that the Collett units were still the best choice. I have many miles of riding Vermont and Quebec trails with others who also use them and haven't been convinced there are any other units that will do the job and survive in the harsh snowmobiling environment. (Chatterbox may be a distant 2nd). Les Collett and his crew are snowmobilers, ATVers, and motorcyclists who use and support the products. BTW US military is also a big user.

Thanks for the reply. Collett does offer a model specifically for the Mod 2 but at $300+ PER UNIT I'm having to hold off for now.
