There has been talk about the Yamaha vespel hyfax made by dupont that hit the shelves late last winter. A few members as well as myself are wondering how the super hard hyfax will affect the track clips? The long term at the present would be hard to determine because they haven't been around long but I am sure there are some riders that were able to log on some serious mileage with them & can hopefully share their input.
I am presently contemplating on which slides to go with. If these are hard on the clips then I will definitely not get them as replacing regular slides more often is WAY cheaper than replacing tracks!!

i highly doubt that they would be hard on clips. they also arent as hard as you would think. id go for them.

judger101, I take it you are using these hyfax & if so, how many miles have you put on them?judger101 said:i highly doubt that they would be hard on clips. they also arent as hard as you would think. id go for them.

I only have 1000 on them, but it is a long track and it was in low snow conditions for most of them.

They work!! I have close to 2k on them last season on 07 ATTAK, virtually no wear up front in front of wheels(where they normally wear the most) . Picked up an honest 1/2 mpg to and the difference rolling up to a stop is noticable. Only downside is cost.

Had them on last year for about 1200 km. About half in very minumul snow conditions...... BIG YES...... Virtually no wear, track clips fine. Previous, even with the extra wheels (that I kept peeling the rubber off) was lucky to get 300 Km. in minimul snow.

WOW, definitely some positive feedback on these things, awesome to here!!! They don't appear to be affecting the clips thus far so it's a "yah" for me to give them a good season's try!!!
Thanks to everyone who shared their experience with them!!

I hope its a yea I just spent 100 bucks at the snow show on them.will have to see this season how they do.stockers are worn out at 1000 miles last year havent removed them yet but I wouldnt leave for the week end without beter inspection of them. my 07 would wear to the line and stay there for a few thousand miles but this sled wore to the line and then some.

I have them on a 12 xtx, no wear in 1200 kms, last ride was on icy and hard snow, very little loose snow, no wear or sticking sliders. Every one else in my group ( 2 121 apexes and a 12 nytro xtx ) had issues that day. They work.
