hi guys

Pulled my skid out of my XTX to do Star kit and get shocks rebuilt/revalve
Just got shocks back and ready to put skid back in sled.

What's the easiest way to put the skid back into Nytro without to much cursing?

1- hook torsion springs back into place and bolt the front in first then back bolts?
OR

2- let torsion springs hang down loose beside track and put front skid bolts in first. And then back bolts and then hook torsion springs back into place?

Any other ways of doing it ?

Thanks guys

Use a ratchet strap to compress the shocks? Slide the skid inside the track, bolt in the front, lower the tunnel to bolt the rear, open the straps and latch the torsion springs

#2 is what i do on my apex xtx. fastest skid remove and install i have ever done.

I ratchet strap the skid until I get the front bolts in, then take off the strap and release the torsion spring tension to do the rear bolts.

I always do it like #2. With the springs let go. Put the springs back up when bolted up, works best for me.

The best way is have someone else do it.

If you do it yourself it can't be done without cursing.

Thanks for the reply guys. I've heard of the ratchet strap trick. But never seen it done
Mite do the old release Torsion spring trick first and see how it goes.

Steeler Jim are you volunteering? Lol

Thanks guys for input.
Very much appreciated

How do you get the front skid bolts in ? We have the skid in the track on the lift and we can’t get the front shaft to line up with the bolt holes. Where do you compress the skid at with the strap?

if i have to do that for the front shock, i run the strap right next to the shock. usually put it in by myself and the only time i have needed to compress that shock is when i am replacing the skid shocks with the skid in grmleeper. with a new track, i sometimes need to stretch it out with a ratchet strap from the track windows to the bumper. worst case is i pull the rear axle and reassemble it with the skid fully mounted. seem to have to do that with the composit tracks more than the camso.
