Dynarex and I have confirmed Saturday February 28th for testing his RX1 on my inertia engine dyno. I would like to extend an invitation and welcome anyone that wants to come and learn about performance tuning the RX1. Of particular importance is testing the crankcase vent plumbed into the filters.

Since nobody else has asked this, what about venting the breather hose into the intake filter on the turbos? Wouldn't the same logic apply? I realize you don't want the hot air, but what about the vacuum on the crankcase?
Don't think you'd have vacuum with the turbos...
i am looking into it, the new cpr turbos will have this, as well as water cooling, and adjustable boost control. updates will be availible. jeff
I should have read that a bit closer - Intake...

Coolness Freddie! I am curious about the crankcase breather thingy also. The only thing I would wanna know is does this sled your testing push oil out the breather now or is it like mine and doesnt even make a mist. But of course you will probably tell us this and every little microscopic detail as you always do. Your as anal about precise details as I am about chroming and cleaning my sled. Maybe thats why we get along so well.---- Cubby

That's great news! Freddie what ever became of the testing of different "needles"? I know it was discussed but I have heard nothing more of the subject.
If you have the needles could the testing of the needles possibly be incorporated into the mix on subsequent runs? PB

My experience is that if you overfill an engine the excess oil is blown someplace and most likely out the crankcase breather. could be that some are over filling the oil tank. Remember check the oil level with the filler stick not screwed in. That breather hose only goes to the crank case.

Freddie and myself will be testing my own personal sled
with/with out the crankcase under vacuum and at atmospheric pressures
my sled is an 03 shorty about 2500 miles-i run amsoil 0-40
freddies filters silver springs and 165jets-the sled runs perfect otherwise
we(myself and freddie) will report after the fact on what weve found
im sure the dyno numbers will confirm my field tests on this theory
im looking forward to meeting Freddie and some of you guys-i hope some of you can make it
see you there

I have several conversations with Dynojet about making needles for me. This will be a long procedure and quite gamble too. Basically I have to tell them how I want the needles made and frankly I am not yet convinced that needles are an absolute requirement because so many people are having great results from doing what we are at this time.
This does not mean that we are not going to manufacture needles, There still is a distinct possibility.

Thanks Freddie. I wondered what had happened with that issue. I was lead to believe the needles from a FZ1000 were possibly the ticket. I trust your judgement and I'm sure you'll get to it when the time is more appropriate.
Also, I owe you an apology. When I was having difficulty with my sled running properly earlier I tried unplugging my ATACC and it made no difference so I figured it must be something to do with the way my filters were setup.
I went to McCall Idaho to ride and it ran horribly. There was a low end bog that was tough to power through. I dropped my needles one click (because it seemed to be loading up) and tried it again. There was no improvement. I was at my wits end. I unplugged the line to the ATACC and tried it.
Viola! It worked much better. I have no clue what is going on here but I will be speaking to Mr. Holtzman about it shortly.
Thanks for the support. PB

Wow, all I can say is wow. So now we got Powder Blue apologizing to Freddie for his earlier comments about the filter kit. I hope the rest of you that are having problems with the kit are reading this.---- Cubby

It's tough to admit when you're wrong (especially in front of this group) but the smoking gun was pointing at the ATACC and not the filter kit this time around.
I still stick to my guns on some of the other points though. Like I wish there was more information available on needle and fuel screw settings based on documented air/fuel gauge readings. I also would still like a jetting chart for applications where elevation is encountered. Something like this is what I'm looking for at some point.
I'd use 152.5 or 155 for over 10,000 feet
I'd probably use the 155 or 156.3 at 8,000 up to 10,000 feet
I'd use 157.5 for 6-8,000 feet.
160 from 4-6,000 feet
162.5 for 2-4,000 feet
165 from sea level to 2,000 feet.
Remember this is a WAG but at least somebody took a stab at it!
Carb springs? The Yellow Holtzman springs seemed to work MUCH better than the Silver. There aren't any noticable "shelves" in the powerband with the Yellow springs like I felt with the Silver springs. Again, I have no idea why.
As far as loosing top end speed? I have no clue. I did run 106 indicated on a bumpy airstrip with the kit on. That is with a 2.25" x 151 finger track. PB

I meant that last post with no disrespect, Powder Blue. Yes it does take balls to admit when your wrong but you did and I commend you for it---- Cubby
