Well as I follow the snow depth chart, read the trail reports, and look at the forecast I can't help but think last weekend was the end of the season for me. It's been a great year up in New England, not often can we ride in December and very rarely can we say that we ended in mid April! That being said, I think the sled deserves a big pat on the back for handling everything it was thrown this year. I am very impressed, and really my only issues are with accessories. I have not had a hot start problem, and she sips fuel. Yes I had to tighten up the coolant clamps, and it needs to go back to the dealer for a cracked chaincase tab. Besides that I put 1600 miles this year. To put that in contrast, my 03 RX1 has 4300mi... When I head to the dealer shortly to drop her off for warranty repair/summerizing here are the issues I'm bringing forth:

Large combination tunnel bag: Wore holes EVERYWHERE. Down on the catwalk, on the tunnel, absolute garbage

Knee Pads: All but one rivet snapped on each side

Rear skid Fox Float: Doesn't consistently hold air

That's it guys, those are my only problems with it. I LOVE THIS THING!!!!! It's getting MPI'ed on the off season and then I'm sure the grin will get larger!

I put just over 1K miles on my Viper LTX SE. Love it. I will buy another. One of the best sleds I have ever owned. Some of the things I would like to see changed. A roller secondary clutch (time to step into the 21st century Yamaha), choice of good coil over spring front shocks or the Fox airs. Ohlins or the GYTR? I am not a fan of Fox shocks. And some more venting/screening kits for the sled. I see cat has been working very hard at keeping the 7000 version cooler in the drive train. Update the fuel mapping and possibly engineering a new air box for increased flow to the injectors. Redesign of the muffler, to ease the servicing of the sled and lose some ugly weight. :yam:
